Principal’s Message

August 2018

 Dear Liberty Middle School Families,

I am so excited to greet you as principal of the NEW Liberty Middle School!  On behalf of the faculty and staff, I welcome you to our beautiful school. It has certainly been a busy summer, and we are anxious to begin a new school year.

As many of you know, in 2006 I started my career in education as a social studies teacher at Liberty High School.  In addition to teaching, I coached baseball and basketball.  In 2012, I became the assistant principal at Staunton River Middle School.  In 2016, I was appointed as the principal of Moneta Elementary School.  It is truly an honor to be back in the Liberty zone where it all started for me.  I look forward to getting to know you or reacquainting myself with you over the next few weeks and months.

It is my goal for Liberty Middle School to be an exciting place for all of our learners.  I encourage you to be actively involved in your child’s education.  Students whose parents are involved in their education are more likely to achieve at high levels.  If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s education, please contact his/her teacher.  Also, please consider joining the PTA, attend other school functions, and volunteer at school.  Together we can create a safe and supportive environment where your child can be inspired to excellence.

I look forward to collaborating with you and your child during the upcoming weeks and months.  If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the office.

We are glad to have you with us.  Let’s work together to make this an excellent school year.

Shawn Trosper, Ed.D.
