Mrs. Eborn’s Weekly Schedule

Greetings, everyone!

As of April 8, this will be when I am available on Google Meet. These are optional, but you are welcome to join if you are able to do so.

Office hours are a chance for you to pop in at any point during the time and ask any questions you might have about the assignments or the class. (These are for both 6th and 7th grades.)

Book talks are times when we can discuss our novels. I will have some questions to lead discussion, but it would be an excellent time for you to come in and discuss your thoughts on the novel as well. There will be different times for 6th and 7th grades as we are reading different novels.   6th grade will take place on Wednesdays, 7th grade will take place on Thursdays.

Fun Fridays!  Every Friday, we are going to open up a Gimkit session!  Please join within the first 15 minutes so we can get started playing.  You will sign in to the Google Meet in one tab and the Gimkit in another.  My 6th graders may also join in this session since the number of participating students is not large.

Please check Google Classroom for the meeting codes, which will be posted a few minutes before the Meet starts, as well as any updates.

Hello My Name Is...

Lora Eborn

Hello and welcome!  I teach Advanced 6th and 7th grade English classes.  I have always enjoyed reading and puns (one of my favorite books of all time is The Phantom Tollbooth), and ever since I was young I have wanted to teach English.  I was an exchange student to Germany when I was in high school and ended up majoring in German in college, doing the same work in those classes (analyzing literature and writing papers) as I now teach.  For the past few years I taught English at a private high school in northwest Virginia, and it is great to be in the new Liberty Middle School building and part of a great community.  I look forward to getting to know my new 6th grade students as well as seeing my former 6th grade students as 7th graders!

My primary way of communicating with students and parents is via Remind (text @2019eng6 to 81010 to join Adv. Eng. 6; for Adv. Eng. 7th grade the codes are: 3rd Block: @2019eng73 and 4th Block: @2019eng74) as well as through Google Classroom.

I can also be reached via email at [email protected]
